SECURITY RESOURCES Training Academy’s Department of Security Enforcement is one of the most comprehensive, and broad-based, security enforcement state licensure certification, education, and continuous training course providers serving both our students, and professional organizations, alike.

Presented-by SECURITY RESOURCES Training Academy’s Department of Security Enforcement, our Armed Security Enforcement, FLORIDA; Statewide Firearm License, Class “G” License, course is a 28-hour education, and certification, continuation course that fulfills the State-of-Florida’s educational, and examination, requirements for Armed Security Enforcement licensure certification.

The course will teach students the core principles-of-armed security enforcement which includes, but not limited to, the following principles: civil, and criminal, liability issues in connection with the use-of-firearms, and a comprehensive understanding of the mechanical operations of a firearm, and how to handle firearms safely.

Additionally, to further our student’s skills development in real-world encounters, techniques covered include, but not limited to, the following skills: training course includes practical exercises in the handling of firearms, e.g. stance, grip, sighting, etc. — as well as topics pertaining to range safety, and range commands.

The topics include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Legal Aspects of Use-of-Firearms
  • Operational Firearms Safety and Firearms Mechanical Training
  • Firearm Qualification
  • Additional Pertinent Information

Once our students complete the course, and final examination, an education certificate shall be issued upon successful achievement of course, and testing, objectives.

Students may then submit their certificate, along with the state application package, to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumers Services, Division-of-Licensing, in-person, or by mail.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Armed Security Enforcement, FLORIDA; Statewide Firearm License, Class “G” License, students must:

Must be at least 18 years old; AND

Must possess an Unarmed Security Enforcement, FLORIDA; Security Officer, Class “D” LicenseAND

Must be either a U.S. citizen, or a permanent legal resident alien, to qualify for a Class “G” License, and must provide documentation confirming your citizenship status; AND

If born in the United States, submit a copy of U.S. birth certificate, U.S. passport,
Social Security card, driver license, state-issued ID card, or voter registration card; OR

If a naturalized citizen, submit a copy U.S. passport, or the official document
issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services indicating naturalized citizen; OR

If not a U.S. citizen, submit a copy of Permanent Legal Resident Alien card.

Education, Training, and/or Experience

Student Applicant must submit proof of successful completion of a minimum of 28-hours of professional training, classroom and range training pertaining to the use of firearms in connection with duties regulated, provided by a security enforcement academy, or training facility, licensed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division-of-Licensing.

Acceptable Alternative Firearms Training/Qualifications:

In accordance with Florida Statutes, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division-of-Licensing, may waive the foregoing firearms training/qualifications IF:

The applicant provides proof that he, or she, is currently certified as a law enforcement officer, or correctional officer, pursuant to the requirements of the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission or has successfully completed the training required for certification within the last 12 months; OR

The applicant provides proof that he, or she ,is currently certified as a federal law enforcement officer and has received law enforcement firearms training administered by a federal law enforcement agency; OR

The applicant submits a valid firearm certificate listed in Section 493.6105(6)(a), Florida Statutes.

Annual Renewal Re-Qualifications:

To maintain licensure, the Armed Security Enforcement, FLORIDA; Statewide Firearm License, Class “G” License,  License holder must complete four-hours of re-qualifying training each year .

The annual training course shall consist of a review of the curriculum topics listed above as part of the initial training requirements to include any recent changes in the law.

Course Formats, Course Schedules, and Course Completion

Armed Security Enforcement, FLORIDA; Statewide Firearm License, Class “G” License is offered in the following manner:

We offer this course in the following format(s):

Classroom Component:

  • In-Class, Instructor-Led;
  • Online Livestream;
  • Student Self-Paced/On-Site (Supervised);
  • Student Self-Paced/Off-Site (Supervised).

Firearm Handling Component:

  • Training Studio;
  • Firearm Range.

We offer this course in the following schedule(s):

  • Express” Weekly Four-Days;
  • “Weekender” Two-Weekends.

Course completion consists of the following:

  • 28-Hours of Curriculum;
  • Minimum 2-Hour Final-Exam;
  • Passing Final-Exam Score of 75%;
  • Course Completion Certificate issued.

A written examination will be administered covering the portions of the curriculum dealing with Legal Use, and Operational/Mechanical training.

Students will be required to fire 144 rounds as part of the firearms qualification for initial licensure (48 rounds of practice fire plus two cycles of 48 rounds for initial qualification).

If the student license holder fails to achieve a passing score after three attempts, they will be instructed to seek additional remedial training and schedule another qualification attempt at a later date with SECURITY RESOURCES Training Academy, which may incur an additional Re-Attempt Fee.
