Presented-by SECURITY RESOURCES Training Academy’s Department of Security Enforcement, our Armed Security Enforcement, Annual Firearm Re-Qualification Renewal, FLORIDA; Statewide Firearm License, Class “G” License, course is a 4-hour education, and re-certification, course that fulfills the State-of-Florida’s educational, and examination, requirements for the Armed Security Enforcement, Annual Firearm Re-Qualification Renewal, FLORIDA  licensure re-certification.

The course will review the core principles-of-armed security enforcement which includes, but not limited to, the following principles: civil, and criminal, liability issues in connection with the use-of-firearms, and a comprehensive understanding of the mechanical operations of a firearm, and how to handle firearms safely.

Additionally, to further our student’s continuous skills development in real-world encounters, techniques reviewed include, but not limited to, the following skills: training course includes practical exercises in the handling of firearms, e.g. stance, grip, sighting, etc. — as well as topics pertaining to range safety, and range commands.

The topics include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Legal Aspects of Use-of-Firearms
  • Operational Firearms Safety and Firearms Mechanical Training
  • Firearm Re-Qualification
  • Additional Pertinent Information

Once our students complete the course, and final examination, an education certificate shall be issued upon successful achievement of course, and testing, objectives.

Students may then submit their certificate, along with the state application package, to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumers Services, Division-of-Licensing, in-person, or by mail.

Elegibility Requirements

To qualify for the Armed Security Enforcement, Annual Firearm Re-Qualification Renewal, FLORIDA; Statewide Firearm License, Class “G” License, students must:

Must be at least 18 years old; AND

Must possess an Unarmed Security Enforcement, FLORIDA; Security Officer, Class “D” LicenseAND

Must posses an Armed Security Enforcement, FLORIDA; Statewide Firearm License, Class “G” License.

Education, Training, and/or Experience

Student Applicant must submit proof of successful completion of a minimum of 4-hours of professional training, classroom, and range training pertaining to the use of firearms in connection with duties regulated, provided by a security enforcement academy, or training facility, licensed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division-of-Licensing.

Acceptable Alternative Firearms Training/Re-Qualifications:

The applicant provides proof that he, or she, is currently certified as a law enforcement officer, or correctional officer, under the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission and has completed law enforcement firearms requalification training annually during the previous two years of the licensure period; OR

The applicant provides proof that he, or she, is currently certified as a federal law enforcement officer and has received law enforcement firearms training administered by a federal law enforcement agency annually during the previous two years of the licensure period; OR

The applicant submits a valid firearm certificate among those specified in Section 493.6105(6)(a), Florida Statutes, and provides proof of having completed requalification training during the previous two years of the licensure period; OR

The applicant provides proof that he, or she, has completed firearms training in accordance with the requirements of the federal Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act under 18 United States Codes 926B-926C.

Course Formats, Course Schedules, and Course Completion

Armed Security Enforcement, Annual Firearm Re-Qualification Renewal, FLORIDA; Statewide Firearm License, Class “G” License is offered in the following manner:

Classroom Component:

  • In-Class, Instructor-Led;
  • Online Livestream;
  • Student Self-Paced/On-Site (Supervised);
  • Student Self-Paced/Off-Site (Supervised).

Firearm Handling Component:

  • Training Studio;
  • Firearm Range.

We offer this course in the following schedule(s):

  • One-Day, Four-Hours.

A written examination will be administered covering the portions of the curriculum dealing with Legal Use, and Operational/Mechanical training.

Student license holders will be required to achieve a passing score on a Cycle-of-Fire consisting of 48- rounds.

If the student license holder fails to achieve a passing score after three attempts, they will be instructed to seek additional remedial training and schedule another re-qualification attempt at a later date with SECURITY RESOURCES Training Academy, which may incur additional Re-Attempt Fee.
