Presented-by SECURITY RESOURCES Training Academy’s Department of Security Enforcement, our Unarmed Security Enforcement, FLORIDA; Security Officer, Class “D” License, course is a 40-hour education, and certification, course that fulfills the State-of-Florida’s educational, and examination, requirements for Unarmed Security Enforcement licensure certification.

The course will teach students the core principles-of-security enforcement which includes, but not limited to, the following principles: physical security, access control, terrorism awareness, and emergency procedures.

Additionally, to further our student’s skills development in real-world encounters, techniques covered include, but not limited to, the following skills: report writing, interviewing techniques, crime deterrence, accident prevention, and more.

Once our students complete the course, and final examination, an education certificate shall be issued upon successful achievement of course, and testing, objectives.

Students may then submit their certificate, along with the state application package, to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumers Services, Division-of-Licensing, online, in-person, or by mail.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Unarmed Security Enforcement, FLORIDA; Security Officer, Class “D” License, students must:

Be at least 18 years old; AND

Be a citizen, or legal resident alien of the United States, or have been granted authority to work in United States by the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Education, Training, and/or Experience

Unarmed Security Enforcement, FLORIDA; Security OfficerClass “D” License, students must:

Student Applicant must submit proof of successful completion of a minimum of 40-hours of professional training provided by a security enforcement academy, or training facility, licensed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division-of-Licensing.

Exceptions to Education, Training, and/or Experience:

If Student Applicant is currently employed law enforcement officer, correctional officer, or correctional probation officer certified by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission, a copy of your valid ID card issued by your employing law enforcement agency is sufficient to satisfy the training requirement; OR

If Student Applicant successfully completed a training program approved by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission for certification as a law enforcement officer, correctional officer, or correctional probation officer, a copy of your certificate-of-completion is sufficient to satisfy the training requirement; OR

If Student Applicant received relevant military training, or education, during service in the United States Armed Forces, proof of such training, or education, is sufficient to satisfy the training requirement.

Course Formats, Course Schedules, and Course Completion

Unarmed Security Enforcement, FLORIDA; Security OfficerClass “D” License is offered in the following manner:

  • Express” Weekly Five-Days;
  • Extended” Bi-Weekly 10-Mornings/10-Evenings;

Course completion consists of the following:

  • 40-Hours of Curriculum;
  • Minimum 2-Hour Final-Exam;
  • 170 Questions Final-Exam;
  • Passing Final-Exam Score of 75%;
  • Course Completion Certificate issued.
